Son Vich is a Mallorcan estate owned by the Sampol family located in the Superna valley, a natural spot in the Tramuntana mountain range, between the municipalities of Esporles and Puigpunyent. It is an estate crossed by the Superna torrent, 300 hectares of land divided between 3 mountains and the valley, of which 8.5 are planted with vineyards.
In 2007, Gabriel Sampol, businessman and owner of the estate, was clear that Son Vich was the ideal place to produce a wine with quality grapes, a high altitude wine. And he got down to work. The optimal meteorological and climatological qualities of the terrain encouraged Sampol to sow ull de llebre or tempranillo, a type of vine that does not occur in the rest of Mallorca, but it is ideal for the Son Vich de Superna estate due to the humidity and temperature that reigns there, also in summer.
The Son Vich de Superna winery was created with the aim of producing unique and exclusive high quality wines, respecting the natural environment as much as possible. From the beginning, a lot of time was invested in understanding the terrain, experimenting with varieties and choosing the best plot for each variety.
